I had the extreme honor of photographing Jessica + Colin’s lakeside wedding day in Olympic National Park last fall. When I tell you I’m still speechless over how it all turned out. . . I mean it. The way that these two let me into their most vulnerable moments was just incredible and reminded me of how much of a privilege this “job” is. Take a look back with me at this beautiful, intimate elopement at Lake Crescent & learn about Jessica + Colin’s love story!
About the Couple
These two beautiful humans have been together for 5 years, and Jessica said she’s always known she wanted to elope. She & Colin’s goal for their big day was to simply have fun, laugh, enjoy the moments, and go with the flow. Whatever that would end up looking like.
Some of their favorite things to do together include hiking, eating delicious food, going anywhere with a view, and drinking beers + good wine. I must say, they brought all of this together beautifully in the form of a sweet & private elopement at Lake Crescent. Surrounded by mossy trees, green ferns, and one of the prettiest bodies of water in the state.
Jessica + Colin’s Lakeside Wedding Day
A cozy Airbnb + first look at the Freshwater Bay boat launch
They started the day off by getting ready separately in the peaceful cabin they rented, nestled right in the woods. Then walked to the Freshwater Bay boat launch right outside of the cabin for a super sweet first look. Witnessing each other in their elopement attire for the first time under the trees and right by the water was the perfect way for Jessica + Colin to begin their special day, having fun & enjoying nature together.
A quick taco break for lunch before the Lake Crescent ceremony
One of my favorite parts of the day was the taco break they took for lunch before heading to Lake Crescent for their private ceremony. Somehow these two made shoving tacos in your mouth look hot AF. I mean, can you blame them in their gorgeous outfits??
They held a ceremony on the dock at Lake Crescent with just the two of them, their officiant, & I. It was the most serene + quiet location for them to share their vows. Simple, fun, and sweet were the obvious themes of the day for Jessica + Colin.
Sunset wedding portraits in Olympic National Park
We ended the evening basking in the golden glow of the sunset. We explored open meadows, wandered through the mossy rainforest, popped champagne by the water, and took shots of tequila on the dock. What a beautiful, beautiful way to wrap up an already lovely day.
