2023 Wedding Trend: Wearable Florals
With 2023 wedding season at our fingertips, it’s time to start thinking about the latest wedding floral trends for spring and summer weddings. As an unconventional photographer I love a trend that finds new ways to help couples express themselves in their own unique way. I teamed up with the lovely Sarah of La Vie En Fleurs to showcase some of our favorite ways to use florals in an alternative way, while still keeping that wedding vibe alive.

In the wedding world of florals…

In the world of florals, there are always new trends emerging, and each year brings something unique and exciting to the table. This year, we’re seeing a range of different trends that cater to all kinds of wedding styles, from romantic and classic to modern and edgy. Let’s dive in and explore some of the most popular spring floral trends for wedding season 2023.
One of the biggest trends we’re seeing for spring weddings in 2023 is the use of bold and bright colors. After a year of subdued tones and neutral palettes, like the wonderful bohemian florals in this epic backyard wedding, couples are ready to embrace color in a big way. Think bright pinks, deep reds, sunny yellows, and rich purples. These colors can be incorporated into everything from the bridal bouquet to the centerpieces, creating a lively and festive atmosphere for the big day.

Another trend that’s gaining traction in the world of spring weddings is the use of wildflowers and other unconventional blooms. Rather than sticking with traditional roses and peonies, couples are opting for more whimsical and eclectic arrangements that feature flowers like ranunculus, dahlias, and anemones. These flowers have a unique and charming quality that adds a touch of personality to any wedding.

So what is our favorite 2023 floral trend?

And don’t forget the men! They deserve some florals too! From hat brims to FLORAL SHOULDER PADS!

In addition to these trends, we’re also seeing a rise in the use of greenery and foliage. This trend has been building for several years now, but it shows no signs of slowing down. Couples are using greenery to create lush and organic arrangements that have a natural, bohemian feel. From cascading garlands to delicate sprigs of eucalyptus, greenery can add a touch of elegance to any wedding.
Of course, no discussion of spring floral trends would be complete without mentioning the classic blooms that have been popular for generations. Roses, peonies, and hydrangeas are still a staple of many weddings, and for good reason. These flowers have a timeless quality that never goes out of style, and they can be incorporated into a range of different wedding styles and themes.
So, how can you make your spring wedding style unique and fun? The key is to think outside the box and put your own personal spin on the latest trends.

Here are a few tips to choose what florals work for your wedding:

  • Choose colors that speak to you. While bold and bright colors are certainly on-trend, you don’t have to feel restricted to a particular palette. If pastels or muted tones are more your style, go for it! The most important thing is to choose colors that make you feel happy and confident.
  • Mix and match different blooms. Don’t feel like you have to stick with one particular type of flower throughout your wedding. Mixing and matching different blooms can create a dynamic and visually interesting look that reflects your personality.
  • Incorporate unique elements into your arrangements. Whether it’s feathers, fruit, or unexpected foliage, incorporating unique elements into your floral arrangements can add a touch of whimsy and playfulness to your wedding.
  • Change up the WHERE. As seen in these photos, you really can add flowers to ANYTHING! From wearable flowers up the arm or down the leg, to decking out any part of your outfit or accessories! The sky is the limit!
  • Consider the overall atmosphere you want to create. Your wedding style should reflect your personality, but it should also create a certain atmosphere for your guests. If you want a romantic and elegant wedding, for example, you might choose classic blooms like roses and peonies in soft pastel shades.
  • Don’t forget about the little details. From the boutonnieres to the flower crowns, every detail counts when it comes to creating a unique and memorable wedding style. Take the time to think about how each element of your floral design can work together to create a cohesive and beautiful look.

Spring wedding season 2023 promises to be full of exciting floral trends that cater to all kinds of wedding styles. Whether you’re drawn to bold and bright colors, unconventional blooms, or classic staples, there’s a trend out there that’s perfect for you. By putting your own personal spin on these trends and incorporating unique elements into your floral arrangements, you can create a wedding style that’s truly one-of-a-kind.

Pick your perfect Florist.

When planning your wedding, it’s important to work with a florist who understands your vision and can bring it to life. Take the time to research different florists in your area and look at their portfolios to get a sense of their style. Don’t be afraid to ask for references or to meet with them in person to discuss your ideas and get a sense of their creative process.
Ultimately, your wedding day should be a reflection of your love story and your unique personalities. By incorporating the latest floral trends in a way that feels authentic to you, you can create a wedding style that’s not only beautiful but also meaningful and memorable. Whether you’re planning a rustic outdoor wedding or a glamorous ballroom affair, the right floral design can elevate your wedding to the next level and make your big day truly unforgettable.
