Payton + Shane’s Intimate Backyard Wedding During COVID-19

We all know that COVID-19 kicked wedding planning’s ass last year. But Payton + Shane made the best out of it with a beautiful, intimate backyard wedding in Poulsbo, WA.

Payton + Shane’s intimate Washington wedding day

Whoever doesn’t believe in fairy tales doesn’t know Payton and Shane. A love story that started when they were seven years old has twisted and turned for a wild ride and now, they are living their fairy tale.

This wedding day was full of happy tears and joy and even their very own pregnancy announcement. All while kicking COVID’s ass and turning a stressful year into one of the best of their lives. Congratulations you two crazy kids, you made it!

A private first look

After getting ready with their loved ones, Payton and Shane did a private first look. They stared each other down with heart eyes, did a few 360 twirls to show each other their wedding looks, and snuggled under the trees. You can just tell they were so ready to marry each other.

Blush on blush on blush

As if Payton and Shane didn’t look amazing enough on their own, these two decorated their backyard wedding so beautifully with a blush color scheme.

From blush-colored cupcakes with “love” cake toppers, to blush pink bridesmaid dresses, to pink & cream florals, their color palette was perfect with the greens of their backyard. Backyard weddings are super easy to decorate since all you’ve gotta do is use what’s already there: decorate your fences, the outside of your house, your patio, etc. Then just bring in any extra rentals (like their ceremony arbor) and you’re good to go!

The ceremony under the trees

After their sweet first look, these two finally tied the knot under the trees in this backyard. They had a simple white rectangular arbor set up with white linen draped over, and greenery & pink florals decorating it. It was such a simple yet beautiful ceremony with benches set up for their guests to sit on, and the sunlight shining through the trees.

Open dancing + the end of the night

Once Payton and Shane said the big “I do” and we finished family + wedding party formals, it was time to celebrateee. They got down on the dance floor with their closest loved ones, partying under strings of lights and listening to toasts by their best friends.

This weekend with Payton and Shane was a whirlwind of love and laughter. And once again being able to spend time in the middle of someone’s love story. It’s an honor and a treasure to do what I do.
